Free coding courses from UNSW CompClub

compclubUNSW’s CompClub is offering two new coding courses for high school students – and they’re free.

There are two 10-week long workshops and they start next week.

“Introduction to Programming” and “Game Development” will both introduce the fundamentals of programming with ‘the modern programming language Python’. The advertising says no programming knowledge is required, although some of the other text says that basic programming knowledge is helpful for the game design workshop so it would probably be worth checking before signing up.

The courses sound like fun: “Students will learn to develop fun and exciting software while improving their critical thinking skills by tackling programming problems with their own creative solutions.” And if that’s not enough, there’s pizza on offer afterwards. The courses are held on the UNSW campus from 4-6pm.

For all the details see the CompClub website.
