Map of global deforestation

You can now explore an interactive map showing the extent of deforestation around the World over the last 13 years.

Google has partnered with a range of other organisations to show how the forests of the world have been cut down. You can adjust a range of parameters to see the extent of forests, the change over time both in growth and deforestation and even land-use. It’s an interesting, and for a school or environmental organisation, useful resource.
