Young ICT Explorers and iAwards open for entries
Young ICT Explorers has just opened for registration. This is an absolutely fabulous competition for school-kids with judging events all around the country and, for the first time this year, in New Zealand. The registration deadline is 31 May, although entrants don’t have to actually submit their full paperwork until late June and the judging events aren’t until August and September. YICTE is a fabulous opportunity for students to showcase their work.

The iAwards have also opened for nominations. The iAwards are the premier IT awards in Australia and the feeder for the Asia Pacific ICT Awards. The awards cover a range of industry categories, although they noticeably lack a category for game development. This year the student category has been broken up so there are different categories for junior and senior high school students.
