Help build a cardboard city
The Sydney Festival is calling for makers, LEGO fanatics and, well, everyone to come and help build the Ephemeral City out of cardboard in January.
This is free group and family and event that runs 8-24 January and involves building the biggest city Australia has ever seen – out of cardboard! Then come back for a day of destruction on Australia Day.
Olivier Grossetete is an extraordinary artist coming to Sydney in January to create with us this amazing feat. Check out the 30sec teaser. Here’s the longer time lapse. Very cool.
Children can channel their inspiration from this mammoth artwork into cardboard collective BOXWARS’ free creative workshops – the perfect school holiday activity.
Those seeking an adrenaline rush can get a bird’s eye view from the free Flying Fox, zipping between the cardboard buildings.
It’s all happening at the Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve. For a full schedule and to get involved download the registration form and email [email protected].
