Hackagong is back for 2014
Hackagong is back again for 2014! And the organisers say its “going to be bigger, better and with more awesomeness!”
Hackagong 2014 will be held on November 29-30, 2014 at the uniCentre, University of Wollongong. Last year’s weekend hackathon event attracted over 100 people competing across various categories for over $32,000 in prizes. They even had Australia’s first 3D printing competition. The basic idea is that you have a weekend to work furiously to make something amazing.
The team of Hackagong volunteers have been hard at work planning for a very awesome, and very epic Hackagong 2014. They are expecting 120-150 competitors with various prize category competitions including 3D printing, Big Data, data visualisation, indie game development, cryptocurrencies and some cool hardware such as the Oculus Rift and Meta glasses.
The recent pitching competition at the Pearcey Awards included a couple of interesting entrants from the University of Wollongong; there’s clearly a lot going on down there.
