This is a good video of an Adam Savage talk on what it takes to be successful.

You can, if you wish, jump over his entertaining description of his early years and get right to the meat of the thing at 14 minutes in. The core of what he says is that success takes work; and he talks to how important that message is today when so many young people are filled with self-belief and aspirations which generate a sense of entitlement.
