Sydney is going medieval for Winterfest
There’s something about the idea of medieval knights jousting in Parramatta that just makes me smile. But, truth be told, watching jousting makes me smile pretty much anywhere.
The Winterfest Medieval Faire is on this coming weekend. It promises to include everything medieval “from historical clothing, arms and armour, faeries and fantasy, traditional jewellery, cloaks (and daggers!), to jousting tournaments and the occasional sword fight!”
There is archery to try, backsmithing to watch, and swords to buy.
It all happens on Saturday and Sunday in Parramatta Park. Street parking is available close by, as are the trains and ferry.
Entry is $15 for adults, $10 for concession, and free for children under 5. For full details see: winterfest.com.au.
