Sydney Model Railway Exhibition 2012

Before there were techno geeks, before geeks had even a suspicion of cool about them, there were model railway geeks. There’s no question that there’s something about trains that stirs up the engineer in all of us.

The longest-running model railway exhibition in Australia and the largest in NSW is on this coming October long weekend. It’s an enthusiasts bonanza, but as the organisers say:

Not just for the enthusiasts, it is also a special day for families with enchanting miniature worlds stirring a child’s fascination and imagination

When: 9-30 September 9am – 5pm and 1 October 9am – 4pm (October Long Weekend)
Where:  Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool
Cost: Adults $12; children $6; family of four $30.

And in case you’re wondering if model railway geeks are connected with the techno-geek world, their website is counting down to the event in milliseconds. That’s geeky.
