An Eye on a Sydney blacksmith

Sydney Eye is a lovely blog with little slices of Sydney life stylishly captured in photos and text. Julie’s latest slices come from the Australian Technology Park, in Eveleigh and focus on activity around the Wrought Artworks team of smiths. There is something deeply appealing about smiths working with fire and metal – the combination of danger and creativity is endlessly compelling. I like the idea of such a traditional activity being neighbour to so many high-tech companies.

Sydney Eye also taught me the meaning of ‘taphophile’ which, if you are equally clueless, is someone who has a passion for and enjoyment of cemeteries. Come to think of it, that matches up nicely with yesterday’s zombie post…
