Let’s say you are a Powerhouse Museum member and thinking of going to the Ultimo Science Festival Big Science Weekend: should you book a ticket?
If you are those things, then be aware that you should book, although it wont cost you anything. Unfortunately, the sites are really unclear on this.
You can just turn up on the day, but should then apparently expect to be stuck in a queue even if you are a member. So the approved process is as follows. First go to the Museum booking site, select the number of people you want tickets for and the date. Then press the ‘continue’ button. On the next page change your selection to the free member option which appears about halfway down. You’ll then have to enter all your billing info as if you were paying, but at the end of the process you’ll get your free tickets.
Colour me thick, but it took me several emails with the lovely organisers to get this information straight; so I hope this helps someone else.
15 August: The Powerhouse has advised: “Just to update you. Powerhouse Members do not need to book. They can enter the Museum via the members express queue as per normal. They won’t be stuck in line with the General Admission visitors. The members option has been removed from the booking page mentioned above.”
