LEGO grows in the desert

I was a bit under-whelmed by the giant LEGO pieces in Martin Place a few weeks ago.  A momentary smile was about it. But put those same pieces in the desert in Broken Hill and they look far more interesting. There’s something strangely appropriate about seeing the huge plastic flora in a place where so little else seems to be growing.

There’s a gallery of pictures on the Festival of Play website celebrating 50 years of LEGO in Australia. That same celebration, by the way, is the reason there’s so much local LEGO news at the moment.

The LEGO forest will be in Broken Hill from July 2 to 12.
