Citizen Science – get froggy with a new app

The Australian Museum is launching a new app to identify and track frogs based on recording their croaks. As explained by the fabulous Dr Jodi Rowley:

Knowing what each frog species sounds is also a great way for us humans to identify our local frogs, without having to disturb them. Once you learn what each local frog species sounds like, you can survey for frogs just by listening!

It looks like the app, which was built for the Australian Museum by IBM, will make this a nice easy bit of citizen science revolving around something that we seldom see but constantly hear.

Frog ID is launching on November 10 and you can register your interest now on the FrogID website.
