Minecraft at the Opera House in July

Oh this is good for all those into Minecraft. Two days in the school holidays of all things blocky at the Opera House.

We invite you to an extraordinary live experience celebrating one of the most popular games on the planet!

Battle it out in Australia’s first official Minecraft Competition, watch all the action unfold on the Sydney Opera House stage and join us for a special presentation from Mojang’s Jens Bergensten (Lead Developer) and Lydia Winters (Brand Director).

Outside the theatre you can learn new skills from Minecraft experts, hang out with hundreds of like-minded crafters and snap a selfie. Then head to the Free Play Zone to challenge your friends with Minecraft available across a range of devices. You can even teach your parents the basics of survival in the Education Zone.

Whether you’re new to Minecraft or a grizzled, diamond-clad pro, there’s something for every crafter at this sensational new event.

The competition involves crafters competing “to out-build, out-battle and out-play each other to be named the Competition Champion! Equipment is provided, all you need to bring are your skills”.

The whole event is designed for everyone from experienced Minecraft builders through to first-timers wondering what this phenomenon is all about.

The event is on Sunday 2 July to Monday 3 July, attendees can come and go between the main competition on stage and the activities in the foyer and surrounds.

Tickets are basically $35 – with an additional $20 to be in the competition. All of the cubic details can be found on the Opera House website.
