Nerd Nite Sydney is back this December

Sydney’s Nerd Nite is revamped and returning in December.

Nerd Nite is a monthly event with three quirky, entertaining, and deeply nerdy mini-presentations. “To add to the fun we also have demonstrations, pub quizzes, and of course, drinks. Anyone can be nerdy about anything, and the proof is in the Nerd Nite pudding. Born in Boston in 2003, this global phenomenon has spread to over 90 cities large and small; the Sydney branch started up in 2012. No lengthy colloquia here, but passionate, bite-size orations about fascinating and bizarre topics that you didn’t know you should know about.”

Nerd Nite Sydney is on Monday 7th December. Doors open from 6pm to get a seat, a bite and a drink; Speakers start 7pm at Hotel Harry, Upstairs Diner, 44 Wentworth Avenue Surry Hills.

Tickets are $12 online or at the door. The line-up is:

Tom Denson: An entertaining journey into what the shape of your face says about you. “An important talk for anyone with a face.”
Arlie Loughnan: A would-be kindergarten teacher with a nail-filing phobia explains the insanity defense in criminal law.
Melissa Knothe Tate: Zooming into single cells and all their connections in a navigable map of the human body…Google mapping the human body.
