Sydney Mini Maker Faire 2015: 15-16 August

Over the last couple of years the Sydney Mini Maker Faire has firmly bolted itself in as a highlight of the Sydney geeky calendar. It’s back again this year; this time as part of the Sydney Science Festival.

If you haven’t been, Maker Faire is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the world-wide Maker movement. A place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.

The aim of the Mini Maker Faire is to showcase for the public Sydney’s most innovative makers and to grow this community. Makers range from tech enthusiasts and crafters to scientists and garage tinkerers, of all ages and backgrounds.

With an exciting program of talks, stalls and performances, and more space for stallholders than ever before, this year’s Faire is looking to be the biggest and best yet!

The Faire is on at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo on 15 and 16 August. See here for the details and tickets. (On its face they’ve repeated last year’s mistake and not made clear that the tickets are for getting into the Powerhouse – which is already free if you are a member. We’ll check that out and confirm it though.)

EDIT: MAAS have now confirmed that you do not need to buy a ticket if you are a member. Tickets are just for museum entry.
