Learn to code as a family

thinkspace familyThinkspace has had yet another fine idea: Coding sessions for families.

These fun, half day sessions are either on Scratch or Python and provide “The perfect opportunity for mums and dads to learn alongside their creative kids.” This is a fabulous opportunity for kids to get started in coding with the support and interest of their parents – and for parents to understand what’s grabbing their kids’ interest. The sessions are on weekends in May, and all the details are here.

Thinkspace is also running some other new courses. Interestingly these include Unity courses for 10-15 years old and separate courses for adults. The Unity and Arduino courses for 16+ are a great idea, simply because older teens and young adults are a sorely neglected group in Sydney, and I hope they see a lot of interest.

The range of courses on offer from Thinkspace just keeps getting better and is well worth a look if you have kids, or, now, if you’re an adult wondering where to start with coding and making.
