UNSW brings us an astronaut’s stories

There’s still something splendid about the idea of an astronaut: The combination of smart and brave and having done something extraordinary is one to conjure with. And next week Dr Sandra “Sandy” Magnus is coming to the University of NSW to give a talk titled “Perspectives from Space”, which will encompass stories, experiences and perspectives gained over her years as a NASA astronaut.

Dr Magnus is an aerospace engineer and astronaut who flew five missions for NASA including the final flight of the Space Shuttle program (STS-135). She is now the Executive Director of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the world’s largest organisation for aerospace professionals.

Dr Magnus’ talk on is Tuesday 12 May from 6:30-8:00pm. It is a free public event, although registration is essential. For more details see here.
