Archaeology Camp in March

archaeologycampArchaeology may be the ultimate puzzle-solving activity, and here’s a chance for students to get more involved.

The Sydney University Archaeology Society has excitedly announced that they are running their hotly awaited Archaeology Camp again this year! The Camp will be held at the Big Dig Centre in The Rocks from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th March. You don’t need to be associated with Sydney Uni or archaeology to be involved and it is open to senior high school students.

They are running a variety of different activities over the three days including practical workshops in the identification and classification of various archaeological artefacts, a site tour of The Big Dig, a tour of the Susannah Place Museum, and lectures from archaeological consultants, academics, and museum professionals.

They have a range of different attendance options available. For senior high school students they are offering attendance at the Saturday activities (9am-7pm) for $40. This includes morning tea, afternoon tea, and lunch.

For University students you can attend all three days/two nights, just the day time activities, or any other combination of days and nights that suits you.

For further information email [email protected] or go to their Facebook page. Note, by the way that there’s a slight typo in the registration form – you do not have to be 18 years old to attend.
