Counting down to TEDxSydney

There aren’t many events where you have to apply to be in the audience. TEDxSydney is one of the few.

The TED talks have leapt to prominence over the last few years with a fascinating array of speakers demonstrating their passion for something they have done or know a lot about.

The annual conferences in Long Beach and Edinburgh bring together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives in exactly 18 minutes.

The TEDx events are locally organised, independent TED-like events around the world. Sydney’s TEDx takes place on 26 May, so only 18 days away. The line-up of speakers is great and there should be some absolutely absorbing presentations.

Applications to be in the audience in the auditorium have closed. But all is not lost: Anyone can attend the Carriageworks on the day for the simulcast of TEDxSydney or tune into one of the partner livestreams, including the one hosted live on YouTube. As the organisers say:

We hope you’ll join us in the Forum audience outside the theatre, where you can find free, comfortable seating, watch our speakers and performers live on a big screen, and enjoy a wide variety of other special treats we’re planning for the Forum audience. It’s free, fun, and you don’t need an invitation, just show up to Carriageworks on the day.

Sounds good.
