Australians love social media – especially Facebook

This is an interesting graph showing the change in social media usage over the last year. The immediately obvious metric is that overall usage of social media has shot up. In spite of reports of declining numbers, use of Facebook in Australia went up by 15%. Facebook’s own figures show over 9 million Australian logging in every day – that’s 39% of the total population. I was surprised at the relatively low number of Twitter users and feel a bit sorry for poor old Google+ languishing way down in the long-tail.
