Enormous LEGO helicopter trashed in Cairns

LEGO-helicopter-at-Sydney-Brick-Show-300x225lego_wreckYou know how sad you get when someone damages a something you’ve built? Well imagine having this enormous LEGO helicopter trashed.

We saw the Big Bird creation at the Sydney Brick Show a few months ago and were awed at the scale of the thing. So much so it was one of the pictures we used in our review at the time. The huge helicopter went on to be exhibited in a Cairns shopping Centre where a group of youths thoroughly trashed it.

Builder Ryan McNaught’s wife tweeted about it and included a picture of the devastation. For the full story see Cairns.com.au. Our Senior LEGO correspondent, Declan P, commented “That’s awful, it’s just wrong. They can’t build, so they just wreck things that others have made.” How right he is.

    Depressing.

But remember, Lego models are meant to be broken down to bricks and reused. It’s always hard. But that’s the deal.

Yeah by you, not by your annoying younger brother – or vandals!

But you put your finger on one of my enduring disappointments: I’ve always been unhappy that the professional LEGO modelers use glue. Cheating in my view.
