Four Australian teens regional finalists for the 2013 Google Science Fair

Four teenagers have been named as regional finalists in the 2013 Google Science Fair.

Viney Kumar (14) from Sydney looked at ways to improve the effectiveness of Emergency Response Vehicles to help Australians. Zaynab Sheriffdeen (14) from Melbourne pondered “Is there a more effective way to battle MRSA?”. Yaya Lu (17) from Hobart completed an Investigation of Potential Assistive Methodologies for Complete Quadriplegics and Ethan Butson (17) from Wollongong is working on developing devices that ensure you get the perfect amount of sun exposure – enough to fight against vitamin D deficiencies while balancing that against the risks of developing sun cancer.

The 15 global finalists will be announced on June 27 as well as the winner of the Science in Action Award.
