Your personal census infographic

With the newly released census data, it’s worth remembering that the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has a nifty interactive app on the web which not only tells you about the headline results but allows you to enter your own information and see how you compare to the world. The result is a lovely infographic showing how you fit into the world around you.

On a quick look if you do it on a mobile device you just get asked the questions which generate the infographic. If you do it on a computer you get a lot more information given to you first. In any case, it’s interesting information and presented with a mildly amusing voice-over.

You’ve got to give the ABS a great deal of credit for making an effort to present the census information in such an entertaining way. The result is really clever and I hope they’ll be updating it with the latest information. To create your own go to spotlight.abs.gov.au.
