Geeking the April 2016 school holidays

holiday-300x150Once again school holidays are almost here so it’s time for the list of activities that have made their way through my inbox recently. There are some wonderful things to do, especially if you are under the age of 13.

=> Thinkspace at the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences has, as always, a really amazing range of workshops. I really can’t recommend the Thinkspace courses highly enough. Nothing for anyone over the age of 13, sadly, but a winning range of activities up to that age.

=> The Australian Museum has a nice range of holiday activities, including Scientist for a Day.

=> AIE has introduction to animation and intro to game programming courses for over-12-year-olds (yes!).

=> Codecamp is running its various coding workshops – in a range from beginner to experienced. Codecamp has is now running courses all over Sydney.

=> GirlCode is running a workshop for girls in Bondi.

=> ThinkClub Australia has several courses running at Sydney Boys High. Haven’t seen these before but they look pretty good.

=> TechScience has courses in Manly on coding, robotics, electronics, 3D-printing and more good stuff.

=> Centennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park, and a range of vacation care venues are running the always popular Fizzics Education programmes.

=> On the North Shore, Professor Plums is running science and robotics workshops during the holidays. Neolithic Tools is a new course and looks really interesting.

=> The Sydney Programming School has learn to code workshops running at the Mosman Art Gallery.

=> Code it Yourself has camps at Fairy Meadow and Kirribilli.

As always, if you know of anything I’ve missed anything feel free to let me know.
